The DSF Building Contact System is a search engine that principals, administrators and DSF employees can use to access contact numbers for DSF personnel, particularly custodian/engineers, building managers and Deputy Directory of Facilities.

It is regularly updated to reflect the latest custodial assignments, but omissions or discrepancies that may exist should be reported to Alex Doulis at  ADoulis2@schools.nyc.gov .

Users may search using either the Building ID Code or the Building Name. Enter the Building ID Code or the first four characters of the Building Name.

Example: for Curtis High School, enter R450 (for Building ID Code)or CURT (for Building Name)

SCHOOL BUILDINGS:

The DSF manages the City’s public school infrastructure by identifying each school building or DOE facility with a discrete, 4-character Building Identification Code. This ID code begins with a letter designating the borough the building is located in - M for Manhattan; X for Bronx; K for Brooklyn; Q for Queens; R for Staten Island - plus, a three digit numeric code, in most but not all cases the elementary or middle School number. Elementary or middle school numbers are converted to Building ID Codes by simply adding the borough letter to the three digit school number. If the number has only one or two digits, then add one or two ‘zero’(s) before to convert it the required three digit number.

Example: Public School 7 in Brooklyn would convert to Building ID Code K007.

SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONS:

The New York City Department of Education may be viewed as a collection of schools and administrative organizations which are housed in various buildings. Within a given building or facility there may be many instructional and/or non-instructional organizations, each with its own discrete Organizational ID Code. For example, X243 represents the West Bronx Academy for the Future; X434 represents The Belmont Preparatory High School; X435 identifies Theodore Roosevelt High School; X437 represents Fordham HS for the Arts; The Fordham Leadership Academy for Business and Technology is org code X438; X439 identifies the Bronx HS of Law and Community Service. These as well as several other administrative organizations are all housed within the Theodore Roosevelt High School Building which is located at 500 East Fordham Road, Bronx New York, 10458. Theodore Roosevelt’s Building Identification Code is X435.

Because the DSF administers physical plant, that is, buildings or facilities, not organizations, our current system does not recognize Organization Names or IDs at this time.
