SchoolFood has implemented various breakfast service models to ensure that we maximize the availability of free breakfast for all students. Our breakfast menus are created to ensure that students receive the proper nutrients they need to think clearly, concentrate on learning, and perform better in class.

For more information regarding SchoolFood’s breakfast service models, contact us at SchoolFoodQuestions@schools.nyc.gov.

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!
SchoolFood is excited to start the new school year. We remain committed to promoting healthy food choices for our students and maintaining high nutritional standards while offering delicious, healthy, and satisfying menu options to reach this goal. Good nutrition is essential in preparing children to learn.

Throughout the 2011-2012 school year, we look forward to strengthening our communication with administrators, teachers, principals, parent coordinators, school staff, parents, and students to support our breakfast and lunch service.

Many students are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. A completed School Meals Application enables eligible students to eat lunch for free or at a reduced rate of $0.25. Students who are not income-eligible or do not return an application will pay $1.50 for lunch. Parents and guardians can return completed paper applications to their child's school, or they can apply online at nyc.applyforlunch.com or nyc.gov/accessnyc.

Because we know how busy the back to school season is, we've compiled a compendium of general information and a list of important forms, to try to make getting your child ready for school easier. Click on either of the items below to learn more about each topic.
