Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year!
SchoolFood is excited to start the new school year and support the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 by providing additional servings of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Over the past decade, we have made tremendous strides in improving the nutrition and taste of the nearly 900,000 meals served every day in over 1,200 kitchens and 1,700 schools. SchoolFood has reduced the sodium, fat, and cholesterol in our menu items, eliminated trans fats as well as artificial colors and flavors, and we continue to remove high fructose corn syrup.
We are proud to introduce an array of NEW products to the food service program this school year. New York City students will be able to enjoy items such as the following.
