About the System

The DSF Building Contact System is a search engine that principals, administrators and DSF employees can use to access contact numbers for DSF personnel; particularly Custodian/Engineers, Building Managers and Deputy Directory of Facilities.

DSF Building Contact System is regularly updated to reflect the latest custodial assignments. Please report any omissions or discrepancies to Connor Brosnahan at: CBrosnahan@schools.nyc.gov.

Please note:
The DSF only administers physical plants; that is, buildings or facilities; but not organizations, such as individual school organizations.

If you wish to locate a school organization, or find a school's contact information, please try 'Find A School' at the Department of Education website: http://schools.nyc.gov/FindASchool/default.htm

How To Run a Search

Enter Building ID Code

The DSF manages the City’s public school infrastructure by identifying each school building or DOE facility with an unique  4-character Building Identification Code. In most cases the Building ID Code will always be four (4) characters long: 1 Alpha Letter plus 3 Numeric Digits.

  • 1 Alpha Letter (any one of 5 alpha letters representing the boroughs)
This letter designates the borough in which the building is located:
    • "X" = Bronx
    • "K" = Brooklyn
    • "M" = Manhattan
    • "Q" = Queens
    • "R" = Staten Island
  • 3 Numeric Digits
In most cases, School Building ID Numbers will be 3 digits.

For school building numbers that are less than 3 digits long (numbers 1 through 99), one or two zeroes will precede the number:
    • Example:
      • Curtis High School in Staten Island would be Building ID Code R450.
        • "R" = Staten Island
        • "450" = school's building number
      • Public School 15 in Manhattan would be Building ID Code M015.
        • "M" = Manhattan
        • "015" = school's building number
      • Public School 7 in Brooklyn would be Building ID Code K007.
        • "K" = Brooklyn
        • "007" = school's building number
Please Note:
The DSF only administers physical plants; that is, buildings or facilities; but not organizations, such as individual school organizations.
